Name: English language group 2. grade

Led by: Mgr. Judita Hercegová

Group activity:

The group is for the pupils of the 2.grade. We meet once a week. The activities are aimed at practicing and improving language skills learnt in English lessons. We concentrate most of all on communication practice, using skills acquired during lessons in an entertaining way using computer technology as well.

Name: Projekt Comenius

Led by: Mgr. Judita Hercegová

Group activity:

This group was established when we won a grant form the Europian Union in the Socrates project. Most of the project work is part of everyday lessons, but sometimes there is not enough time for all interesting activities that we have to carry out. For this reason we established this group. Pupils like to work in it. Its members are mostly 2. grade pupils. We usually meet every Friday afternoon, or anytime it is neccessary to some project work.

Name: Computer group for the 1. stupeň

Led by: Mgr. Elena Sélešová

Group activity:

This group is for 1. grade pupils. Members are pupils of 3. and 4. grade. We meet regularly twice a week. The aim of our work is to improve computer skills of children already at the 1.grade. Pupils in an entertaining form during the whole school year learn to work with Windows XP applications: Painting, Word, Excel, PowerPoint ročníka. Then they will learn how to use Internet. Except for these activities they wil work with different CDs, with which they can practice their knowledge of Maths, Homeland study and so on. After the work they will be rewarded with games suitable for their age.

Group activity:

This group is for pupils of the 5. - 9.forms. Every day there are 10 pupils in the group.

Group work is held every day for a different form. They improve their computer skills and we continue from the knowledge they acquired on the 1. grade. They learn how to work in the Windows XP. They learn to make, copy, move and to delete files. They learn to use the Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office applications. Afer the work they can play games or surf on the Internet.

Name: RoboLab

Led by: Mgr. Želmíra Vargicová

Group activity:

Within the Infovek project our school got RoboLab - two building kits. We took part in seminars and from September 2005 we started to work with our pupils. We leart to model basik models, that we programme through computers and with the help of the "tower" we transmit the programme to the RXC box, that is part of the model. We can controll the model with a remote controll and then it does what we programmed it for. We show our products every week in a showcase in the hall. Next year pupils will start to make models that they design themselves and take part in competitions.

Name: Skilfull hands

Led by: Mgr. Ema Juhászová

Group activity:

Members of the group meet once a week, every Wednesday from 13,00 to 15,00.The activity is aimed at developping the esthetic feelings, expressing emotions and images through artistic work. Children learn different artistic techniques and materials. We show the products in the classroom or in the hall. They make our environment more pleasant and colourful.

Group activity:

We usually meet twice a week. All the activities are led in name of "fair play". Pupils develop their sport skills. We play different sports as football, street hockey. They keep fit, improve their game techniques, competitivness and learn team work. We also train for pupils´football championships.

Group activities:

Modern men cannot do without foreign language knowledge. The aim of this group is to enable pupils to learn basic grammar of German language and orientation in common communication situations. All texts and exercises are aimed at the active performance of pupils in learning, for example filling in gaps, making questions, sentences, learning vocabulary in context, listening exercises, pronunciation practice and so on.

In everyday life we have to state our opinion, agreement or disagreement in a new or unexpected situation - that is what pupils should learn at least on a basic level.

Group activity:

Members of the group are pupils of the 1.form. They work with a ,, Lego“ building set, from which they make different models according to assignment or according their own ideas. They develop their manipulation skills, creativity, team work, and their also usefully spend their free time.

Name: Science group

Led by: Mgr. Natália Nôtová

Group activity:

Members meet every week, mostly on Friday between 13 : 00 and 15 : 00. The activity of the group is aimed at the development of the environmental feeling of the children. During walks in the countryside they see the biodiversity of the the fauna and flora of the nearest environment of the region, they watch the presence and nidification of storks /Little Stork Project/, they visit the Ekorelax in Rimavská Sobota and have the possibility to see also exotic animals. Members of the group take care of a 150 l aquarium placed in the hall of the school.They also use Internet to fullfill tasks of "Coresponding school fo ecology" that is organized by OZ Tatry,they take part in science competitions like "Learn and protect", "Olympics of Environment"," Hypericum" and so on. They take care of the school environment - plants in the school, Christmas decoration, environmnental corner. We do not forget about health protection /practicing first aid/ and drug prevention.

May 2005 – educational - relaxing stay in Environmental Education Centre, Drieňok, Teplý Vrch.
